CUET(UG) 2023: Common University Entrance Test – All Details

“The Ministry of Education and UGC have mandated the National Testing Agency to conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023 for admission into undergraduate programs in Central Universities under the Ministry of Education, as well as other participating universities, institutions, organizations, and autonomous colleges. The CUET (UG) offers a single-window opportunity to students seeking admission to any of the Central Universities (CUs) or other participating organizations, including State Universities, Deemed and Private Universities, across the country. For the Academic Session 2023-24, CUET (UG) – 2023 will be conducted in the Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.”

Application Process:

Start Registration:

To begin the application process, please follow these steps:

a) Register for the Online Application Form by visiting the official website and clicking on the registration link.

b) Fill in the required personal details in the Online Application Form, including your name, address, date of birth, and educational qualifications.

c) Create a PASSWORD and choose a Security Question from the options provided.

d) Enter your Answer to the Security Question.

e) Once you have successfully submitted your personal details, a unique Application Number will be generated. This number will be used to complete the remaining steps of the Application Form and will also be required for all future reference and correspondence.

f) For subsequent logins, you can directly login with the respective system-generated Application Number and created Password.

g) Please ensure that you note down your Application Number and keep it safe, as it will be required throughout the application process.

Complete the Application Form:

To complete the Application Form, follow these steps:

a) Log in to the Online Application Form using the system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password.

b) Fill in your personal details, including educational qualifications, University, Institution, Organization, and program selection.

c) Select your desired Examination Cities and test paper details.

d) Upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, Category Certificate (if applicable), and PwBD Certificate (wherever applicable).

e) Ensure that your recent photograph is either in color or black and white with 80% of your face (without mask) visible against a white background.

f) Make sure that the scanned photograph and signature are in JPG/JPEG format and are clearly legible.

g) The size of the scanned photograph should be between 10 kb to 200 kb and the scanned signature should be between 4 kb to 30 kb, both clearly legible.

h) The size of the scanned copy of the Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS etc.) should be in pdf between 50kb to 300kb (clearly legible).

i) The size of the scanned copy of the PwBD certificate should be in pdf between 50 kb to 300 kb (clearly legible).

j) Ensure that you upload only your own photograph, signature, and certificate(s) in a correct/proper manner.

k) Check your photograph and signature before submitting the Application Form. If the photograph or signature is blurred or not visible to identify your identity, the application will be rejected.

Please note that using/uploading someone else's photograph, signature, or certificate(s) in your Application Form/Admit Card, or tampering with your Admit Card/Result/Scorecard will be treated as Unfair Means (UFM) Practices, and appropriate action will be taken as detailed under the provisions of the Information Bulletin relating to Unfair Means Practices.

Fee Payment:

a) After filling in personal details, educational qualifications, test paper details, and uploading scanned images, proceed to Step 1 and Step 2.

b) Pay the examination fee online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, UPI, or Paytm Services.

c) Processing charges and GST as applicable will be charged by the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator, in addition to the examination fee.

d) The Confirmation Page of the online Application Form will be generated only after successful payment by the Candidate.

e) If the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of the fee, the candidate must approach the concerned Bank / Payment Gateway (the helpline number and e-mail given in the Information Bulletin) for ensuring the successful payment or for obtain the refund of duplicate/multiple payments.

Examination scheme:

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023 will be held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. For details on papers, scheme, timing, eligibility, and other relevant information, candidates should consult the Information Bulletin of CUET (UG) – 2023, which is accessible on the official website (direct link is available at the bottom of this article).

  1. The examination will be held over multiple days in three shifts, based on the number of candidates and subject choices.
  2. Candidates can choose a maximum of 10 subjects from all three sections mentioned below.

To be eligible for admission to the three Central Universities of Sanskrit, candidates who are studying any of the subjects related to traditional Shastric subjects, such as Sahitya, Vyakarana, Phalitha Jyotisha, Siddhanta Jyotisha, Nyaya, Advaita Vedanta, Visistadvaita Vedanta, Dvaita Vedanta, Sankhya Yoga, Agama, Mimamsa, Puranetihasa, Dharanasastra, Rigveda Bhashyam, Krishna Yajurveda Bhashyam, Shukla Yajurveda Bhashyam, Samaveda Bhashyam, Atharva Veda Bhashyam, and Vastu, can select Sanskrit (220) and/or Sanskrit (325) in the online Application Form for Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023. It is recommended that candidates choose the subjects based on the mapping of the universities.

Revised instructions for Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2023:

1. The application process for CUET (UG) – 2023 is exclusively online through the official website. Applications submitted in any other mode will not be accepted.

2. Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application form. Filling more than one application form will lead to strict action against the candidate even at a later stage.

3. It is mandatory for candidates to adhere to the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin and on the official website. Candidates not following the instructions will be disqualified.

4. While filling the online application form, candidates must ensure that they provide their own or their parents/guardians’ valid email address and mobile number. NTA will communicate all the relevant information through email or SMS only to the registered email address or mobile number.
