Generally, questions come from this chapter to check your sense of

  • Direction
  • Distance

Direction: We know the four main directions namely North, South, East, and West.

There are four cardinal directions / Subdirections i.e North – East, South East, North – West, and South – West

Concept of Movement:

Whenever you start, it is always suggested that even that starting point has all four directions along with left and right.

Right Turn: When a person takes a turn on the right side, the movement can be compared with a clockwise direction.

Left Turn” When a person takes a turn on the left side, the movement can be compared with an anticlockwise direction.

Direction at Sunrise and Sunset:

The sun rises from the East and sets in the West, which is a universal truth. So, it is very easy to understand the shadow concept as well as the direction.

At the time of Sunrise, the front will always face the East direction and the back will face the West, so the following positions are very important –

  • Shadow will be towards the west only.
  • The direction of the right hand will be South.
  • The direction of the left hand will be North.

The reverse will happen at the time of Sunset.

  • Shadow will be towards the East
  • The direction of the right hand will be North.
  • The direction of the left hand will be South.
